SCREENSHOT	SYNOPSIS
	Duet – Building extraction from stereo IKONOS images. It aims as a software-only alternative to the commercial packages that use specialized visualization equipments that are both costly and discomfort for long-time use. Custom memory management system is deployed to handle images up to sub-gigabytes while requiring memory heap below 64 megabytes. General image processing facilities are provided. Various intelligent user-input assistances are under investigation.
	FireSpots – Ground fire monitoring using SPOT images. It is a software package that enables easy navigation over large ground areas with near-instant screen update. Band selection/combination, distance/area measurements, image rectification, and other facilities are provided. It can also be used to save a geo-referenced crop of an image if the original is geo-referenced. Automatic detection of smoke plumes is currrently experimental.
	SarShips – Ship detection from SAR imagery. It is a software package for identifying highly-reflective objects in water that may correspond to shipping vessels. Special component analysis algorithms are developed to process large images and huge amount of components with great efficiency on time and space. User-friendly navigation is enabled by using the GSHHS database (see below).
	GshhsExplorer – An explorer for the Global Self-consistent Hierarchical High-resolution Shoreline (GSHHS) database. It is a powerful visualization tool for the huge datasets. It also provides customization for applications that require only subsets of interest that are much smaller in size and less demanding to handle. It can be easily incorporated into other software packages.
	SarPriExplorer – An explorer for SAR.PRI satellite images. It is useful for those who want to investigate the detailed properties of their images without the need to flip through pages of thick manuals. Both multi-part and combined file forms are supported. It can be easily incorporated into other software packages.
	TiffExplorer – An explorer for TIFF/GeoTIFF images. Besides common property inspection, it also has a "spy mechnism" for uncovering private/hidden directories in some images. It can be easily incorporated into other software packages.
	ExifExplorer – An explorer for images with embedded Exif information. It is useful for scene analysis of still photos taken with digital cameras. It can be easily incorporated into other software packages.
