- Al Shinkle ( Monday, October 20, 2008 4:38 am, reference page ) : 19 Oct 2008: First visited Wat Phou in 1965. We landed a Royal Lao Air Force C-47 in the dry rice fields east of the Wat. Was most impressed by the fitting together of the stones in the temple remains and the exotic carvings of animals on the cliffs to the west of the temple ruins. Good Memories.
