Chilka lake is a saltwater coastal lake in Orissa state, India. It is the largest saltwater lake in the country. The lake is filled with numerous small picturesque islands and is home to many native and migratory birds. In fact, the lake supports one of the world's largest breeding colonies of flamingos. The lake also sustains the livelihood of thousands of people who live around it.
