Smoke plumes rise from fire scattered over the hills and planes of this corner of Kalimantan. The fire at the lower right corner appears to be on irregular small plots of farm land, while the others in the upper half of the image could be forest fires.

The image shown covers about 40km by 30km.

The burning continues. Smoke haze has become rather thick over some of the areas. Note the large areas of forest (east and west of the centre of the image) burnt within just five days.
