Where is in the world that drilling activity caused disaster like this one in Sidoarjo?. It was a fatal mistake on geological data interpretation prior to the activity.

That almost double with the first interval in which sudden collapse of eruption centre is already wide accepted in 3m. Recently the there is a signigicant changed in geometry of previously cone to a creater like-basin. See in new image!

The above photo seems to show that they have channalized the mud into the river already. Although I have never been a one of those environment protection fanatics, in this case I have to agree that tons of mud introduced into the river will probably end up plugging it up, and creating a meandering river which will damage the river itself, destroy thousands of acres of adjacent.

We are trying to get more information about what proposals any engineers have put forward for dealing with the mud-flow. We are particularly worried about the possible collapse of the containment walls and the mounting pressure on the chamber- what needs to be done most urgently???

I used October's image for monitoring the Lusi drainage pattern as sediment gravity flow. I am focusing effort for flowing Lusi to the Madura Strait by using Porong River as a media transport sedimant.

As a result the flow of mud increases (it has doubled since the beginning: pretty much alike squeezing out tooth past )and the roof of the chamber caves in.

Including the all coveraged image area (7 August imange), main pond (central area), PerumTAS Pond (north), Mindi Pond (southwest), Relief-1 Pond (west), and Siring Pond. Very interesting in August Image, we can see a clear east-west and southeast trending lineaments, that crossing the mudflow draineage pattern. We cross thes lineaments with GPR.

Whole area is waiting to give some value back.But how the required capital can be raised?INDONESIA deserves high growth of tourist arrivals. It's as safe as any other country, magnificient land with nice people. the fraction of the cost elsewere.

In overall the mudvolcano geometry can be seen more clearly. The outer ring dams which have revitalized by the government also can be traced very clearly. Surprise we can identifie a lineament nne-sse trendeng across the main mud dam, which clearly crossing the drainage mud flow pattern, that we worry as a new active fault? Even a barrel of mud is almost impossible to handle, this is a landscape of mud. You can't pump it, move about in it even with dozers, Its heavy as stone, but liquid as water. FN should do something.

The dam was not breached, there were lots of white birds feeding in the paddy fields along the railway track. EVEN AT THAT TIME THE DAMAGE AND SUFFERING I WITNESSED WAS TERRIBLE, URGENCY OF HELP WAS TOO OBVIOUS. Such a help is always too slow.   • Peter Waterworth ( Sunday, April 29, 2007 8:17 pm, reference page ) : I travelled last week from Malang to Surabaya airport by minibus, a 4 hr journey that normally took 1.5 hr. Mud had covered padi fields and destabilised and destroyed homes. Mud blocked drains causing flooding. Our trail went through ten or so villages where enterprising villagers had set up road blocks to extort money from passing traffic. We were stopped about 20 times and demands for money were made. Devastating to local village economies.

Accidently my office is just 3 km from the mud source. to day the mud already spread out was more than this picture taken ,and more than 13,000 family houses had been covered by mud and the main road from SUrabaya to malang is completely blocked.

All the surrounding villages, the same destiny as Jatirejo, terrible, feel sorry for the affected people.

Our most recent imaging attempts were on 20 Oct (view browse image) and 31 Oct 2006 (view browse image). I'm sorry, I could not find any recent news report (Nov) of the mud flow from the web.

Looking at the page you are referring to ( http://www.crisp.nus.edu.sg/coverages/mudflow/index_IK_p3.html ), please correct me if I'm wrong, I suppose you were saying about the difference in the top and bottom image. The top image was captured on Oct 2005 while the bottom image was captured on Aug 2006. The difference was that there was no mud flow in the top image while there was mud flow in the bottom image.

  • Adam Kadmon ( Saturday, October 21, 2006 9:24 am, reference page ) : Is the least worst option just to let it spread naturally towards the sea? Building dykes doesn't seem to help much. Sooner or later the natural outward expansion over the land will cease and the mud will fill in the nearby coast. It looks like it will be a matter of readjusting and rebuilding over decades.

Dont flow the mud (solid). it could be a future natural resources for ceramics, bricks or spa product.

Then it was seeping over the road and they weren't sure the retaining wall would hold it and keep the road clear. We got a glimpse of the mud gyser spewing a distance from the roadway. From the van as we traveled the smooth-slick of mud did not express the depth of the mud covering until we saw the roofs almost covered. The fear remains there it is unclear how much more mud is to come out --where will it go?

As a Lecturer of Psychorientology, we could have a 'remote viewing' of what is really happening in Sidoarjo, and seeing the source of it A nephew who is an expert on the field in drilling for an Oil Company. He has reported, since he also is an Alumni from Silva's System. It's a matter of not willing to invest more, and bearing the consequence ofit. Who is responsible for this catastrophe?

  • Webmaster : Does anyone has any suggestions or creative solutions to the mud flow problem in East Java? For example, can the mud be processed and turned into useful materials like construction materials for buildings and roads? I'm not an expert in this field, any professional suggestions are welcome.
