Download updates from http://maps.geog.umd.edu/activefire.asp There are two sets of data. 1. Fire points for the last 48 hours 2. Fire points for the last 7 days.
  • Ivan P Anderson ( Friday, November 10, 2006 7:43 am, reference page ) : Excellent. This is the kind of detail we need about these problem fires in Indonesia. Perhaps the origins of the fires cannot be identified but they are clearly associated with plantation agriculture. In this case the fires are in and around an Acacia crassicarpa pulpwood plantation east of Palembang. This 40000 ha estate is on peat (thus all the smoke drifting towards Singapore).
